Frequently Asked Questions - Update 1st July 2021
Q: How many Company_Administrators can each organisation have?
A: Each organisation can only have one Company_Administrator.
Q: How many Company_Data_Managers can each organisation have??
A: No, there are no practical limitations to the amount of Data Managers
and Company Users, although we would recommend limiting the
allocation of the Data Manager role to only those who will be uploading.
Q: Can Company_Administrators upload data?
A: Not by default, however a Company Admin can add the Data Manager role to their account in order to submit data.
Q: Do Company_Users have to have the same email domain email as the organisation?
A: No it is the responsibility of the Company_Administrator to add members to their organisation and assign roles and access rights, these can be from users from outside their own organisation.
Q: What is my data download limit?
A: Approved organisations, including licensees, will each be able to download 3 Terabytes of NDR content in a calendar month, without paying a fee. This is per organisation, not an individual’s limit, reset at the start of each month
Q: What if my organisation exceeds their limit?
A: Any organisation wishing to increase their download limit for a given month may do so at their discretion and their expense, using the in-application purchasing options. Alternatively, orders on media can also be arranged via the application.
Q: What browsers can I use?
A: For best performance Chromium based web browsers are recommended.
Q: What quality criteria will the NSTA apply to reported data?
A: The format, and quality of data reported in the new system will be aligned with that of guidance that has been published for many years. Users will not be able to upload non-compliant information. The new service will check before data is loaded to verify, for example, that where it is stated as a requirement, in guidance, all documents are reported in machine readable PDF format. Similarly, post-stack seismic must be in a compliant SEG-Y format, ASCII format for log files and other tabular information, etc
Q: Are there any charges for reporting data to the NDR?
A: Regulatory users can fulfil their obligations to upload reportable information via the NDR web interface using self-service workflows for no charge..All reportable information, including seismic trace data, can be uploaded online, using self- service workflows. There is still the option to submit data on media to the service team, for those who prefer to do so. Charges will be applicable where reporters choose to use these services.
The plan is to keep the FAQs updated to reflect the questions being asked, and articles being searched. So over the coming months these my change.
Also attached to this document are the questions raised during the user groups, these are also available from the NSTA website here.
