If you are concerned that commercial data is not released when creating a ProjectID for a survey containing both proprietary and commercial data the following advice should be followed:
The NDR ProjectID metadata needs to include an Exploration Licence ID, e.g. E567 – this will apply the Exploration Licence rule set, which has a longer confidentiality period for data compared to a Production Licence. It will not be automatically presented to the NDR Team for review and release with a button click, which is true for wells and P licence surveys.
An E licence ID should be added when the project is created. If the Project already exists and does not have E licence rules applied, then the NDR need to intervene to make such changes before any data is loaded. Contact ndr@nstauthority.co.uk explaining the issue
Users can fill out this form when requesting the creation of a new NDR Project. It asks various questions that should lead the user to a complete answer that ensures the necessary metadata is collected and applied, meaning the appropriate rules will also be applied.
The form is also accessible from the NDR Login screen in the Notifications section.
It is fairly common for users to have difficulty identifying the exact ID of the Exploration Licence(s) for the commercial data – after all, it isn’t their licence/data, if you have difficulty with that then just flag that to the NDR. or if you have further questions re loading such data contact the NSTA at ndr@nstauthority.co.uk
