- Missing Data Request workflow
- Completeness Inventory reporting
- Minor bugs and increased Data Reporting compliance feedback
In terms of updates and new functionality, these are the key developments:
For all users:
Missing Data Requests:
The Missing Data Request workflow has now been configured to increase transparency
for all stakeholders, and to ensure that the NSTA is able to moderate the flow of requests
being made to licensees.
Initiating a Missing Data Request has not changed. A request is made via the Data
Discovery page by clicking on a file count number for a Project ID (responsibility for
reporting data must be assigned to a different company than the requestor company).
This displays the following page (seismic survey example):
CTAGs associated to a file that is already present are highlighted in green.
CTAGs are selectable and the Requestor is then required to provide information to
support their request for data. Users should not identify themselves within the free
comment box but provide rationale for their request. Detail of what is required to be
Reported by the licensee is helpful to the NSTA Compliance Team when considering
whether to issue a request for data to be reported.
When a request has been approved, the NSTA will issue a request to the responsible
organisation, usually to the ISC of a licensee, with the expectation that the information
will be provided in a specified timescale.
If a request is not supported by the NSTA, the Requestor will be informed via email.
We use the Zendesk ticketing system to manage services and support requests for the
NDR. Missing Data Requests are assigned a ticket ID – whether you are the Requestor
or you have the Company Data Manager role, the Missing Data Request tickets that are
associated with you can be tracked by logging into the Zendesk ticket portal in the NDR
Support Centre.
For further help on accessing these tickets, please review this support information:

For Data Manager roles only:
Completeness reports: For well data, an authorised user can download Completeness
Reports which identify the information that has been reported via the NDR. A user with
the Company Data Manager role can download a .csv file of their organisation's
'Completeness data' for analysis in a tool of their choice (e.g. excel or PowerBI). This
functionality is accessed through Data Submission > Manage Completeness:
This will download TWO .csv files.
One file is related to the Project ID including the Well ID or NDR9 survey code, Release
Date, and file count against CTag.
The second .csv contains a listing of each file reported to the NDR including its unique
file ID (SHA512), file name, release date and NDR9/Well ID where present.
Additionally, on this page, you will find a "Download Missing Data Request CSV" button.
This report details the Missing Data Requests that have been reviewed by the NSTA and
requested to be reported to the NDR by your organisation.
Updating the Completeness Inventory: and marking information as "Not Acquired" or
"Not Available":
A Company Data Manager can now maintain the Inventory of information for their
company’s wellbores and seismic surveys – this includes being able to record that a
certain data type has not been acquired, or that the information was acquired but that it
is not available to be reported to the NSTA.
On entering the Data Discovery page, at the top left of the Project IDs Table, there is a
green button labelled "Show XXXX" (where XXXX is your four-character Company ID).
This shows all Project IDs for which the Company Data Manager’s Company has the
principal responsibility to report data.
It should also be noted that "Unreported" Project IDs are already filtered from this list as
they have no unique data content. These “Unreported” Project IDs can be accessed by
clicking the purple "Show Unreported Project IDs" button.
To access the Completeness Inventory a Company Data Manager should click the
"File Count" number for the Project ID they wish to update. The Completeness Inventory
will then display the following page.
CTAGs are highlighted with the Completeness Inventory information that was migrated
from the legacy NDR.
A Company Data Manager can mark items as "Not Available" or "Not Acquired", if an
item is marked in error, the Company Data Manager should use the "Deselect" column
to undo the setting.
Once they have completed their input, the Company Data Manager needs to scroll to
the bottom of the page to check, comment and confirm the acquisition and availability
settings on behalf of their organisation.
At this point, a comment supporting the selected status is required and the Confirm
checkbox needs to be checked.
These submissions will then be processed. It can take some time for the settings to
display - they should be visible in the system within 48 hours.
